PROJECT BACKGROUND
I worked as lead designer on File Services for Server Manager shipped in Windows Server 2012 R2. File services is one of the most popular role services available on Windows Sever.
PROCESS
Windows 8 Server Manager is a reimagined console for remote management of multiple servers and roles. We did extensive user research to understand pain points in legacy server management application. I worked closely with a team of product managers to define experience of managing file servers. I delivered designs for monitoring, deployment and troubleshooting scenarios. I owned UX plan for the effort and paired with a researcher to validate my designs in usability studies.
